oddment tweak and the wonky faints
it is fun to make up songs about harry potter...my trouble comes in putting them to music
here is a song i wrote for Hedwig...(the chorus uses the tune wake up little suzie...i keep changing my mind about how the rest of the song should sound...i just have a vague image in my head since i function visually and music wise can just say what i like)
Dead Hedwig Who?
Knock Knock
Who’s there
Dead Hedwig
No
Wake up little Hedwig, wake up
Wake up little Hedwig wake up
you are just resting deep, wake up little Hedwig or I’ll weep
my childhood’s over, deatheaters swarm and we’re in trouble deep
wake up little Hedwig
wake up little Hedwig now
I lost you and my firebolt in one cleansweep
she’s just stunned, she’ll move soon
no, that’s what I call a dead owl, my dead owl
stone dead, cold dead
blazing in a cage
she’s resting I tell you
so let’s wake her up
Wake up little Hedwig, wake up
Wake up little Hedwig wake up
you are just resting deep, wake up little Hedwig or I’ll weep
my childhood’s over, deatheaters swarm and we’re in trouble deep
wake up little Hedwig
wake up little Hedwig now
wake up little Hedwig
wake up little Hedwig
wake up little Hedwig
wake up little Hedwig
wake up!
HEDWIG LIVES
Here are some other songs I am working on:
An Ode to Men who Love Dragons too Much and the Women who Love Them
Bellatrix is a Bitch
Kreacher Comfort
Divination Homework

Looking for Poetry About Cheese
National Cheese Day!!
Where I work is odd in a great way....and in January, we celebrate National Cheese Day and eat a lot of cheese things and we play this game kinda like bochi that an old employee made and sent to us last year (it's called the big cheese)
So, last year, someone found a quote:"Poets have been mysteriously silent on the subject of cheese."--G.K. Chesterton
so I promised her I would take up the challenge...I want to come up with enough to make a little chapbook so if anyone else wants to write about cheese (or if you already have), post it here or email me at itisrockstar@gmail.com and i'll include your work and mail you a chappy.

barista-ing
there is something almost zen about pulling shots of espresso and foaming milk...of course, if i had to do this 40 hours a week, it prob would lose it's charm, but since i am just a pinch hitter, i can still find some enjoyment in it.
right now, a big obsession is buying art online...i have been in love with 20x200 since it began. as soon as they offer gift certificates, i plan to give them to my friends cause like the sticker says, "LIVE WITH ART- IT'S GOOD FOR YOU"
My favorite prints right now are Linzie Hunter's Spam One-Liners. She also has some prints at Thumbtack Press. I can't decide which ones are my faves. Here they are:
http://www.thumbtackpress.com/browse/index.php?cPath=121
In honor of this cool spam one-liner art, here are some recent spam one-liners i found...
affordable bling
new tv to pc software
works with sexual stimulation
give your body an unusual upgrade in new year
mouth bowl sun solid snail film
sometimes wearing the right luxury watch
me-frost
re: Rope
what's in the bag
last chance! so many free slippers, so little time
a concept, a class, a chair.
Re: you don't like fitness & want to be fit good shape don't be silly- put a condom on your willy
grapes worm
passport pocket bridge spice pendulum parachute
great pills
also have some great subject lines in non-spam mail like the association of moving image archivist listserv

we write. they wrong.
it strikes me at absurd at how bad a blogger i am while i can write page after page of mindless musings to my friends. so maybe i'll just pretend i'm writing to them here?
this week has been odd...
i've been sick so no mindless job to go, but i was actually quite productive writing-wise, creating cv wise, and grading portfolios wise. so it has been a stupor of sleep and heat and even less sleep than usual...moldy brain with tv running in the background--project runway, top chef, battlestar galactica marathons and the same project runway episode over and over so i keep waking up to the same part adding to the confusion
my skull is hot and feels like it weighs as much as a zamboni on thin ice...
fun zamboni facts i just learned from wikipedia (is there a poem in there)
Behind the blade, wash water is often sprayed on
shaves the surface
might otherwise become embedded in
make the ice brittle or soft, give it pungent odours, or make it cloudy.
bits of loose ice along the kick plates
fitted with a board brush,
reduce the need for edging of the
Snoopy usually drove the Zamboni,
although Woodstock had a small Zamboni for his bird bath.
a Zamboni going around and around
crash a resurfacer through the boards

I'll work on it...i read a line that said, "Eyes gaze," but I read it as "Eyes glaze" which now I am envisioning an eye made of ice glazing over with a zamboni sliding slicing over it much like un chien andalou

are we only ever looking for home?
still thinking a lot about home, memory, identity, exile, language...
I am trying to think of ways to expand my home/memory piece
thinking of giving people surveys to fill out and go off of those, but also think it would be interested to do a series of collages or other pieces

randomness or sloppy second degree burns
here are some things i have found this past week (from correspondence):
"Thank you for your vote in favor of my amendment to delete funds to reproduce Playboy in braille"
"He contends that persons now claiming to have some lung problem as a result of cotton dust are frauds and charlatans."
I also get many emails that are quite random and wonderful. I shall try to find some of the older ones, but current ones I am receiving are just lists of words from different addresses
here they are:

Let's Just Plunder!
(sign in front of a thrift shop type place)
so i am all about plundering (language, images, whatever)...i tried to do a poetry blog awhile back, and it kinda puttered out. i wanted to post work from people that used found language. it didn't really go anywhere, so this time around, i think i will just maybe post the odd language i find in my own life, random thoughts, collaborations, and maybe some poetry. i am thinking about working on some kind of writing project around the idea of "Let's Just Plunder" and/or "Lost and Found," so hopefully this blog will stir up ideas for that.
